Looking for more heart failure research?
Ongoing studies are listed below. We will continue to update this page as more research studies are rolled out.
The CARDI study looks to determine the relationship between cardiovascular disease, cognition, immune function, and Alzheimer's disease risk factors in persons with heart disease.
Heart problems can increase the chances of developing Alzheimer's disease as we age and can speed up its progression. Many adults in their middle years are living with heart disease, which raises their risk for Alzheimer's and other brain issues, like memory loss. This study will look at how heart-related risk factors, the immune system, Alzheimer's disease risk markers, and brain function are connected in middle-aged adults with heart failure or other heart conditions.

The MVP Study.
The MVP study examines cardiovascular risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease during middle age. While we know that hypertension during midlife increases the risk for Alzheimer’s disease, the risk for middle aged adults with other types of cardiovascular disease is unknown. This study will assess Alzheimer’s disease risk in persons living with certain cardiovascular diseases that affect the structure and function of the heart so we can improve treatments and education to prevent or delay changes in memory and development of dementia.
